Battleship
Battleship is an upcoming 2012 American science fiction naval war film based on the children’s game that was originally published by Milton-Bradley (now owned by Hasbro). The film was directed by Peter Berg and will be released by Universal Pictures. The film stars Taylor Kitsch, Alexander Skarsgård, Brooklyn Decker, Rihanna, and Liam Neeson.
The film’s world premiere was in Tokyo, Japan, on April 5, 2012. The film was originally planned to be released in 2011, but was rescheduled to April 13, 2012 in U.K. and May 18, 2012 in U.S.
Based on the classic Hasbro naval combat game, Battleship is the story of an international fleet of ships who come across an alien armada whilst on a Naval war games exercise. An intense battle ensues over sea, land and air. What do they aliens – known as ‘The Regents’ – want?
